Solar Power Panel For Laptops

How long will your laptop stay functional until gets discharged? Let's face the truth, it's nothing special. Although the producers always have very nice promises, the reality is unfortunately worse. What would you say on a possibility to get an energy directly from the sun to your laptop? Wouldn't that be great?

Although it sounds like a fairy tail it can be actually very real. Imagine a situation where you could just walk outside on some nice place in the nature open up your laptop and work all day long using just the energy gathered from the sun beams. Well the truth is that while this is possible, it has some limitations as well so far. I'm going to describe tests of the SolarGOrilla solar panel. The first day outside was a big disappointment. When the sky is dark like when it's about to rain, you can just hardly get any benefits of using the solar panel. Even a mobile phone connected to another port on the solar panel wasn't looking very happy. The charging cycles were interrupting and even the whole day wasn't enough to charge the mobile phone at least to the half of its capacity.

However, the second day of testing finally showed some positive results. Occasional sun lights were enough to fully charge the mobile, however the laptop was still unable to receive the energy to start charging. On the first clear shiny day everything changed. Three hours were sufficient time to charge half of the mobile phone battery and at the same time, the solar panels were able to supply the laptop with enough power so that it didn't have to use the power stored in its accumulator. Although the laptop doesn't indicate any charge it was surely working as during an 8-hour playback of a movie it consistently showed that the battery was fully charged. The result is that if there are sharp sun lights, the solar panel for laptops works as necessary.

However, the mornings and evenings are always quite weak. You cannot rely on a sufficient amount of the sun light. The thing is that after ten o'clock in the morning, everything is working as intended, but after 4 pm in the afternoon, it's starting to get worse and worse. You certainly cannot use the solar panels while sitting in the shade somewhere in your garden or in the interior. Sometimes it helps when you adjust the angle of the solar panel facing to the sun. Rotating of the panel to the sun is not difficult, but it actually lacks a base, which would make it a lot easier. As the panel has to be in direct sunlight so do you. And you can imagine how hard it is actually to read from laptop's display when there's sun shining on it.

To sum that up I can say that SolarGorilla is not a good tool for laptop charging. However you can use it with sufficient results to charge a mobile phone. However if you are sure that it's going to be sunny all day long and you don't really mind looking at the laptop while the sun is shining on the screen you can find this alternative power supply pretty useful for your laptop as well.
